What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang is an event that pairs artists and writers together to create content for a series, ship, or theme. While there are different types of Big Bangs, the 2024 Kacchako Big Bang is a moderated event intended to portray a romantic relationship between Uraraka Ochako and Bakugou Katsuki from Boku No Hero Academia by Horikoshi Kohei.This is intended to be a fun, collaborative event to celebrate our beloved Kacchako. There is no previous bang experience required, and the event is open to Kacchako enthusiasts—if you've ever thought about dipping your toes into creating for fandom, this is an amazing and safe space to learn!

Who can participate?
Writer
Traditional: Write a fanfic of at least 7,500* words at the time of posting
Reverse: Write a fanfic of at least 5,000* words at the time of posting based on an art idea submitted by an Artist* WC may vary based on results of 2024 IC resultsArtist
Traditional: Complete one piece of art based on their writer's fic*
Reverse: Submit and complete up to two art ideas for a Writers to write a fanfic about** Art requirements may vary based on results of 2024 IC resultsBeta
Proofread fics based on a writer's needs**Betas will never be required to read more than the minimum mandatory word countPinch-hitter
Back-up content creator in case someone drops out (all positions)

How do I participate?
Participants can sign up without having filled out the Interest Check:
Writers and Artists sign-ups will take place from March 4th to March 31st
Betas sign-ups will be from March 4th to April 19th
Pinch-Hitter sign-ups will last from March 4th to July 14th

How does this work?
There is no selection process involved, so everyone is welcome to sign up—no previous event experience required!Once the sign-up period for Writers and Artists is over, summaries of plotlines and art concepts will be submitted for claims. Participants will choose their top ten (10) choices to work with based on anonymized summaries. The moderator team will pair Writers, Artists, and Betas together—matches will be announced on Discord.Then it's time to create!There will be four (4) check-ins and a final deadline. Each Team will be asked to select a posting date during the week of September 20 - 27. All collaborative works will be posted in our AO3 Collection and promoted on our Twitter page.*Writers/Artists/Betas are welcome to sign up as an incoming team
